TBJQ is an exciting group of jazz musicians dedicated to high standards of performance and entertainment. With a repertoire of some of the twentieth century's most famous jazz standards, original material and distinctive fresh arrangements of classics, TBJQ's performances are equally fitting at a wedding or in a concert hall. And it's always great fun!
Tim Boniface, Ben Newton & Tom Early have been working together as a trio since 2000, with Kirsty Mitchell joining the group two years later to form a successful quartet. From 2002 – 2007 the Tim Boniface Jazz Quartet recorded and released two CD’s, performed at numerous live events and developed an enthusiastic following. In 2007, with Kirsty’s departure to Costa Rica, Henry George joined on the guitar – enabling the band to develop a whole new extended repertoire. Kirsty has now returned, and the new line-up continues to entertain audiences with an engaging mix of mainstream jazz standards, original modern jazz, blues and
funk arrangements.
The bands newest release, ‘Spotlight On TBJQ’, (2008) is a set of beautifully produced recordings from TBJQ’s popular repertoire of jazz favourites. The profits from sales are being given directly to Oasis Housing at No.3 – a housing support project linked to the Oasis Trust - www.oasisuk.org
